AdSense Accelerator Call with Joel Comm

Yesterday, I was a special guest with Joel Comm for a teleconference with his AdSense Code teleseminar participants on the line.  We went over the basics of AdSense Accelerator, and some ideas on how to use it for creating AdSense websites or pages.

I got to answer a few questions from directly from the participants, which is always great for me.  I enjoy talking with people directly, and answering their questions - one reason why I also take the Customer Service e-mails for AdSense Accelerator.  We do our best to personally answer our mail, and it's not always an easy task!

If you want to give a listen, you can download the MP3 of the call here.   To see the AdSense Accelerator demo videos and get more information, go to www.adsensesmarter.com

Interview with Revenue Checker for Adsense

Today we have the interview with Joe Jarosciak about his new product, Revenue Checker.   Enjoy!

Cash Keywords: I found Revenue Checker while reading the Digital Point Adsense Forum. There is quite a thread there about your software, so I loaded the demo and really liked what I saw.  What made you decide to create this product?

Joe: I frequently visit many online forums debating Google AdSense and Google Adwords systems. Revenue Checker was created due to very high demand from the Google publishers requesting program that could check their account earnings automatically and provide features like estimated earnings, cpc and average per day and month calculations, along with graphs and channel data.

The initial main force behind my activity to provide this type of program was my own need of such software, and eventually I had decided to spend more time programming, build in more functionality and features, and to create a website for Revenue Checker program.

CK: What I really liked is the "almost realtime" information for our Adsense stats that just pop up in a box at the time we set it for. That gets rid of the nagging feeling of wanting to check stats; the "Gee, wonder what Adsense is doing" all day long. Plus for example, the extra features of CPC, estimated earnings for the month, and being able to compare data between channels easily. How is this product different or better than an adsense tracker or adsense chart application?

Joe: Ah, I still remember that exact feeling "should I go and check it again?"  I guess I wasn't alone… ;) AdSense Tracker, as far as I know, is a web based program, which eventually forces you to open up a website, so even though you have some functionality, you still need to get to your details by opening the web browser itself.

As far as I understand it, when using AdSense Chart, you need to first open your own AdSense account, download the csv file, then paste it to AdSense Charts website and then you will get to your advanced stats and graphs. This I find discomforting, since I don't want anyone to see my account statistics.  But I haven't had a chance to thoroughly test any of these software packages.

Revenue Checker makes functionality easier by providing information on mouse over of system tray icon or simple double click to get to advanced details and charts.

CK: What are your users saying is best feature to this product?

Joe: So far graphs and charts along with channel support are the ones most talked about.

CK: Where does the program run - on your servers or on the user's machine?

Joe: This program runs solely from the user's machine. There is no connection to our web or any other server.

CK: Do you support Mac users?

Joe: You are not the first one to ask this question. Unfortunately, Revenue Checker is programmed in Microsoft .NET, so it is running only on Microsoft platform. If there will be a high demand from the Mac community, eventually I would provide this application for Macintosh users as well.

CK: Some people are worried about providing their Adsense Username and Password in order to get the program to work - Can you address the issue of security and your program?

Joe: In short: All variables, including your account name and password are encrypted using the most powerful encryption methods currently available, meaning that all information (name, password, settings, etc.) entered into Revenue Checker is secured by encryption. Data you enter into our program are only passed to your secure Google AdSense login page and back to your desktop, all through an encrypted data transfer.

It means that a developer of this software or no one else has access to your account or any other, to this program or your account, related information. All communication is done as if you logged in through secure Google website (https).

I am willing to open the source code for review to certified software auditors to prove the program security.  Also, there is a whole page dedicated to the security of this program.  You can check this online at our website:

CK: Adsense Publishers can be a bit paranoid about unknowingly violating Google's TOS and being kicked out of the Adsense Program. We all know that clicking on your own ads is a big no-no. Is there a problem with querying the Adsense Admin as far as Google's concerned? Put another way, have you checked with Adsense to make sure that using your software doesn't violate their TOS or other requirements?

Joe: Before this program was created, I made sure there's no violation of Google TOS. Therefore, I believe that everyone should be safe using this program. Also, it's worth mentioning that currently there are several hundred people using this program and, as far as I know, no one had his account disabled.

Recently, one of my customers got curious and contacted Google AdSense team. I've got copied on this email and their answer was in the tone that it should be ok to run and use this program.

Of course, I understand Google's stand and I know they wouldn't give out any directly supporting statement until they would audit my software personally (I haven't received a request from Google so far).

CK: Beyond checking stats, I found Revenue checker useful in seeing changes in Adsense stats that really help, like a drop/increase in hourly earnings after making a change, and also I found some advertising I was doing(channel A) brought in as much revenue as another avenue (channel B) I thought was great. Kinda put the Hmmm....back into my day.

What are some creative ways people are using the program for - do you know of any?

Joe: Since you can see your statistics pretty much every time you need, advanced by their graphic output, it is very easy to monitor and play around with ads and their placement and watch the outcomes. Users can track various changes in very short intervals (>= 5 minutes). You can improve your earnings by hundreds of percent using this program. I personally run Google AdSense ads on more than 5 websites and can already see it propelled me to do the changes I would normally never do, just because they simply proved effective

CK: What can we look forward to seeing in future updates?

Joe: Currently I am working on search earnings and statistic page, along with minor add-ons requested by users.

CK: I used up our demos 3 restarts and it's the first software in a long time that I thought I better just buy NOW! The response has been very good overall from what I read - you're not going to raise the price anytime soon, are you?

Joe: In the near future there probably won't be a sharp hike in the price, definitely not above $50.

CK: Anything else you want our readers to know?

Joe: I would like to point your readers to forum dedicated to this program: http://www.revenuecheckerforadsense.com/forum/

Visitors can ask questions related to this software using the online discussion board.  Also, I would like to present 74 Technologies' website (www.74tech.com) featuring our other useful products.

CK: Joe, it's been a pleasure, and thank you for guest blogging with us.

Joe: Thank you for the opportunity.

Adsense Revenue Checker Review

Been a busy day....Looks like Revenue Checker for Adsense is getting a little more exposure in webmaster circles from what I've seen.  And as promised, I tried the Revenue checker software demo the 3 restarts I was entitled, and reporting on my experience.  I have to say I was happily surprised with the features, esp. the "today" statistics that included earnings per hour (wow, great for obsessive stats types - I admit to that personality type), CPC, plus the usual CPM, CTR, total amount made today - Oh, and an estimated earnings for the month.

The software allows you to set a schedule for the software to check your stats and popup the current info with a non intrusive block.  You can have it check stats every 5 minutes or up to 24 hours.  Love that, since it relieves some of that nagging wondering that leads to logging in and out of Adsense all day (you know who you are).

The other statistics tab provides similar stats for channels, and for various breakfdowns of past stats similar to what Google has: yesterday, today, last month, this month, last week, etc etc.  The best part for me was the channel breakdowns that include the CPC plus lots of very nice graphs and charts that somehow get you thinking differently than the plain numbers and letters version from Google.

This software is intended to save you time (which it will) but I found I spent alot of time on my first round, trying out all the variables and seeing some new things I didn't before.  Like one of my ad campaigns that I thought was good, but found it  is on the same level CPC-wise to make money like a current ad campaign that I thought was great.

I think this product is a perfect complement to Cash Keywords reports.  Now I can figure out what the top $$ keywords are, then after getting the new content up, with Revenue Checker I can see the actual Adsense CPC for those keywords. I can visually see if content pages with new targeted keywords are bringing in more $$. I can see if the ad color changes or if moving the ad placement made a difference up or down the same day.  That's good stuff!

Well, CK got the OK from Adsense Revenue Checker creator, Joe, for an interview, so get ready because we'll have that posted tomorrow.

Out of 5 Dollars (instead of stars ;) - I give this software a $4.50 - with a little room to spare for future improvements (I would like to be able to save "Today" data, for example).  Looks like Joe's been very responsive to feedback so far, and with the new changes in Google today, the software may need some tweaks to accomodate new kinds of stats (a programmer's work is never done).

PS. The software is $39.95 - not a bad price at all, and right now is below the regular $49.95. Anyway, it doesn't take much to make up $40 in Adsense revenue with the data I saw.

Revenue Checker for Google AdSense (aka AdSense Checker)

Logging in and out of Adsense all day can be a pain (well, if you are an Adsense Addict, and there seem to be a bunch of us out there).  Then tracking changes you make like a new ad campaign, or adding new pages often require several days to really figure out if things have improved (when it comes to channels it always will - thanks Google - it's always hurry up and wait).

Recently Joe Jarosciak wrote a program called Adsense Revenue Checker, with a free download (3 restarts - but like Joe pointed out in an extensive thread for Digital Point Forums, you can run it as long as you don't restart the program or reboot).

Beside, logging into Google with 1 click, and a timed revenue checker (you set the interval), you can also see:

Channel Statistics
Specified or predefined time range statistics
Numeric and graphic chart display of statistics
Balloons on Update
Sound on update
Page impressions
Cost per click
Average per day
Average per hour
This Month (Estimated Earnings)
Clicks
Click-through rate
Effective CPM
Your earnings

Looks interesting, and we will check out the demo and report back here.....
